A village where animals roam free
One of the most unique sights in Brockenhurst is the New Forest ponies, donkeys, and cattle wandering freely through the village and across the common land. They're part of daily life here—often spotted crossing roads, grazing outside shops, or relaxing on village greens.
Please remember: admire from a distance and don’t touch or feed them! This is now illegal within the forest.

Pigs are out from end of September to eat all the acorns - this is known as Pannage.
